The NoFloods barrier is easy to install, totally safe and uses on-site water to fill the tube structure, forming a strong and stable barrier. It is also possible to attach a membrane so as to increase the protection height, further enhancing the stability of the barrier and minimizing seepage. The NoFloods barrier can be installed almost anywhere, by a crew of 4-5 men. The mobile dam replaces the use of sandbags in case of flooding. In just few hours, four men using a vehicle are able to lay out 1 km of mobile dam. By comparison, it would require around 2,000 men to do the same job in four hours using sandbags.. The most ingenious part is that the barrier sucks in the floodwater to fill up and become heavy and immobile, thus “fighting water with water.” The environment benefits enormously: compared to sandbags, the CO2 emission can be reduced with as much as 99,5% when installing 1 km.
